Sinterklaas gets his own welcome party in Eindhoven

After an alternative corona year, the Dutch ‘Sinterklaasfeest’ can finally be celebrated with a live audience.

The well-known entry on the Kanaaldijk will be replaced by a welcome party at the Stadhuisplein. On November 13, between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM, everyone is welcome to visit the ‘Sint en Pieten’ in the Hall of 100 in the City Hall. Everyone gets the chance to welcome Sinterklaas to Eindhoven via the indicated route.

After the rendez-vous with Sinterklaas, there’s so much more to do! From baking gingerbread cookies in large fire bowls to an ice rank. There will be music, dance, bouncy castles, silent discos and so much more. For additional information about the interactive and completely new ‘Sinterklaas Welcome Party’ for all children, visit

We’ve been waiting with increasing anticipation for a while now, but…. where is Sinterklaas? Last year, traveling abroad was a bit difficult so I asked all the social media Pieten to make a film. I still enjoy the TikTok videos you made for me; you sure have some impressing moves! In respons to that, I'm throwing a big welcome party this year.

Bring yourself and your parents to the City Hall on November 13. From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. I will be with the Pieten in the Hall of 100 to celebrate my return to Eindhoven. We can sing, dance and enjoy those (way too tasty) gingerbread cookies together. But….I have another surprise for you! There is a lot going on around the City Hall and there are many games and activities.

I'm not going to tell you everything yet because it’s a surprise, but if you won’t tell I’ll share some details. Are you ready? How about baking gingerbread cookies in enormous fire bowls? Or an Escape Room? There are dance and music activities, a silent disco, bouncy castles for the little ones, space for the coolest TikTok moves and you can even play laser tag! Are you excited? Okay, I'll reveal two more; there is a real ice rink and a 28 meter long obstacle course. I'll leave the latter to the young Pieten, there is only so much this old man can take.

This, and much more, will be open to everyone on November 13 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Let's all make it the best party ever! In any case, me and the Pieten can't wait. Will you be there?
